RAS AL KHAIMAH, 18th April, 2022 (WAM) — The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has further bolstered its credentials as an employer of choice with a top ten ranking on the Best Places list of 2022 – Small and Medium Organizations. Awarded by Great Place to Work, the global authority that recognizes high-reliability and high-performance work cultures, RAKTDA is the highest-ranked government entity in the category at number six.

The latest in a string of accolades, the Authority has also been named one of the Best Workplaces for Women and a Great Place to Work in 2021, the first and only organization in Ras Al Khaimah to receive this certification. . It has also been recognized as “the government entity with the happiest working environment” in the emirate and “the happiest employees in Ras Al Khaimah” by the Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence (SSPGE) .

As part of its ongoing employee-focused efforts to create a work environment that puts employee health and well-being at the heart of its operations, the Authority recently announced a platform of initiatives aimed at enriching connectivity, community life and facilities for employees in the tourism sector in the Emirate.

Working closely with government entities, industry players and hospitality partners, the Authority has established a roadmap for the emirate to enhance its attractiveness to people who want to live, work and immerse themselves in a larger community.

These initiatives include the expansion of public and intercity transport across the emirate, a comprehensive review of employment regulations and policies, community engagement programs, employee recognition programs, a RAK FAM community card, offering travel and tourism employees special discounts in retail, leisure and activities in the emirate and certification for travel and hospitality partners. These initiatives are based on the progressive policies put in place by the Authority, such as its “Lifestyle Benefits” program which guarantees employees equal treatment, regardless of their age, gender, parental or marital status. It was also one of the first government entities in the emirate to introduce an official remote working policy and an extensive hardship assistance program. Additionally, its strong Emiratization program provides Emirati nationals with training and leadership development opportunities for placement within the Authority or in cutting-edge industries in Ras Al Khaimah.
