Minister hails tourism development on Belibis Island, Solok City
This tourist attraction can be recommended as an ideal vacation destination for the community, especially since it is quite close to neighboring areas.
Solok, West Sumatra (ANTARA) – Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahudin Uno has hailed the development of tourism in the city of Solok, West Sumatra, especially in the tourist attraction of the island of Belibis.
“This tourist attraction can be recommended as an ideal vacation destination for the community, especially since it is quite close to neighboring areas,” the minister noted during his visit to Belibis Island here on Wednesday.
Uno pointed out that Solok City has a good chance of becoming a developed city, as it is located in a transit area and offers opportunities in tourism and agriculture, among others.
“I am happy to be able to visit this city of Solok,” he remarked.
Uno encouraged regional governments to act quickly, especially in the tourism sector, as it is expected to grow rapidly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, he expects the emergence of creative ideas from young people for the advancement of the tourism and creative economy sectors that can improve the economy and create more jobs for the community.
Mayor of Solok City Zul Elfian Umar and Deputy Mayor of Solok City Ramadhani Kirana Putra welcomed the Minister’s visit to Belibis Island.
Umar noted that the city of Solok needs guidance and support from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to develop the tourist attractions in the city, especially the tourist attraction of Belibis Island.
“Solok City is a small city, but we continue to make efforts to make it an advanced city, especially in tourism and agriculture,” the mayor said.
The Solok City Tourist Board continues to work hard to improve the quality of facilities and supporting infrastructure to increase the convenience of tourists while visiting the city.
Belibis Island has also been declared in West Sumatra Governor’s Decree Number: 556-575-2021 of 2021 as a Flagship Tourist Attraction (DTWU) of West Sumatra Province.
