Quang Ninh (VNA) – the Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism (MoCST) and the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province, headquarters of Ha Long Bay recognized by UNESCOon March 22 held a ceremony to officially announce the reopening of tourism in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister of MoCST Hoang Dao Cuong said that for the reopening of tourism to be effective, businesses should coordinate to renew their products and introduce new ones in response to changing customer demand after the COVID pandemic. -19.

He also suggested companies focus on products such as luxury leisure tourism, ecotourism, community tourism, adventure tourism, sports tourism and medical tourism to achieve the target. to welcome more than 5 million international visitors this year and to create momentum for the years to come.

Regarding the markets, he said that attention should be paid to those showing a rapid, strong and sustainable recovery such as Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, the United States United States, India, the Middle East and others near Southeast Asia.

Along with restoring international flights and frequency, carriers must open more air routes to major markets, he said, asking travel agencies and airlines to step up coordination in creating trips organized quality and to provide updates on immigration regulations and pandemic prevention and control measures for passengers.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Tuong Van, expressed his hope that the MoCST, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the airlines will soon implement tourism promotion programs in key markets.

Quang Ninh and other localities are ready to join such programs, helping to promote the land and people of Vietnam to international friends, he said.

The Northern Province strives to serve more than 10 million holidaymakers this year, including 1.5 million foreigners, and earn some VND21 trillion (USD918.13 million) from the industry.

At the end of the first quarter of this year, the locality welcomed about 2 million tourists.

Other tourist localities like Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City have also affirmed their efforts to boost the domestic tourism sector.

Within the framework of the event, the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province, Vietnam Airlines and Sun Group signed a cooperation agreement on boosting tourism./.
